Circadian Technologies Limited (ASX: CIR) is an Australian biotechnology company focused on the development of biologics-based therapies for the treatment of cancer and other serious human illnesses.  Under its subsidiary, Vegenics Limited, Circadian owns an extensive patent portfolio covering targets and drugs to modulate the process of angiogenesis - the development of blood vessels within the body.  Inhibition of angiogenesis to essentially starve tumours of oxygen and nourishment has emerged in recent years as one of the most promising new methods for cancer treatment.

Circadian's product pipeline includes biologics drugs targeting three important mediators of angiogenesis.  VGX-100 is a fully human antibody that inhibits the VEGF-C protein.  The program is in preclinical development (manufacturing scale-up).  Other drug development programs target the VEGF-D protein and the VEGFR3 receptor.  Products covered by Circadian's intellectual property are under development by the company's licensees; Ark Therapeutics (Phase 3 clinical trials), and ImClone Systems Inc (preclinical development).

Circadian is run by some of the most experienced and successful people in the Australian biotechnology industry.  Their past roles have included positions with Amgen, Genentech, GlaxoWellcome, Schering and Sanofi-Aventis.
